Team India Practices in Public Park as Rahul Dravid Shares Unique T20 World Cup Experience

India is set to play three of their four group games in New York against Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA, with their final league game against Canada taking place in Florida. However, the ongoing T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA has seen a lack of buzz and partially empty stadiums due to high ticket prices. Despite this, India head coach Rahul Dravid remains hopeful that fans will turn up for their group games.

“It’s slightly different and exciting to have a World Cup in a new country and place. The buzz is different since cricket isn’t a major sport here. Hopefully, when our games start, Indian fans will come and bring that usual excitement,” Dravid stated during a pre-match press conference.

Since arriving in New York, the Indian team has been training at Cantiague Park in Hicksville. Dravid acknowledged that practicing in a public park has been a bit unusual but emphasized that the experience has been enjoyable and effective.

“In terms of what we wanted from practice, it’s been as professional as usual. It’s a bit strange practicing in a park instead of a cricket stadium, but it’s been great fun and something new and exciting,” he added.

Dravid’s comments reflect the unique and adaptable spirit of the team as they prepare for their upcoming matches in less traditional settings, while still maintaining their high standards of practice and preparation.
