The Story
At the heart of “Marked” is Babalwa (played by Lerato Mvelase), a devout former police officer who now works as a cash-in-transit guard. Her world shatters when her daughter, Palesa (Ama Qamata), is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. With the healthcare system failing her and the bills piling up, Babalwa is left with an impossible choice.
Desperate to save her daughter, she turns to her trusted friend Tebza (S’dumo Mtshali) and a reluctant newcomer, Zweli (Sphamandla Dhludhu), to plan a high-stakes heist. What begins as an act of love soon descends into a dark spiral of betrayal, corruption, and survival—challenging every moral fiber of the characters involved.
