Tamil cinema’s blockbuster Leo is set to roar back into theaters for a special re-release this weekend (June 21–22, 2025). Originally released on October 19, 2023, this edge-of-the-seat action thriller, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was a massive success at the box office and a key piece of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Now, fans get a chance to experience the intensity all over again on the big screen.
The Story: One Man, Two Lives
Vijay stars as Parthiban “Parthi”, a seemingly calm and quiet café owner in Himachal Pradesh who becomes a local hero after a violent incident. But his act of bravery sets off a chain reaction, pulling him into a dark world he tried to escape. Parthi’s hidden past as Leo Das comes to light, and with it, a dangerous connection to the criminal Das family.
As his dual identity unravels, Parthi/Leo is forced to confront Antony Das (Sanjay Dutt) and Harold Das (Arjun)—powerful and ruthless figures who bring chaos into his carefully rebuilt life. In a battle of blood, vengeance, and redemption, can Leo protect his family and keep his true identity from destroying everything?
