Tamil cinema welcomes a refreshing blend of comedy, satire, and social commentary with the release of Bomb on September 12, 2025. This 2-hour 19-minute film, rated U, takes audiences on a witty yet thought-provoking journey through the clash of faith, superstition, and friendship in a rural setting.
Storyline
Set in the fictional village of Kaalakammaipaati, the story revolves around two rival sects constantly at odds over their beliefs. The tension escalates when Kathiravan (Kaali Venkat), an atheist, dies unexpectedly on a sacred night. But his body begins to release strange sounds—farting continuously—leading villagers to interpret it as a divine sign. Soon, both sects claim Kathiravan as a vessel of their gods, fueling an absurd yet darkly comic battle of faith.

Amidst the chaos, Mani Muthu (Arjun Das), Kathiravan’s loyal friend, refuses to buy into blind superstition. Believing his friend is still alive, he embarks on a desperate mission to save him. What follows is a satirical take on human folly, blind devotion, and the fine line between faith and reason—wrapped in humor and heart.
