Featured Performers at the Carnatic Vocal Concert

First of all, a live Carnatic Vocal Concert derives its melodic strength from the synchronized vocal harmonies and rhythmic precision of the performing team. In addition, this upcoming recital brings together a very talented line-up of young classical practitioners:

1. Kum. R. S. Shankari & R. Srikriti (Vocalists)

Vocalists Kum. R. S. Shankari and R. Srikriti are respected young exponents of traditional Carnatic music. Known for their melodious voice blending, strict adherence to pitch purity (Sruthi shuddham), and clear pronunciation of kriti lyrics (Sahitya bhava), their joint presentations capture the soulful devotional essence of classical compositions.

2. Thillaisthanam R. Suriyanarayanan (Mridangam)

Providing rhythmic foundation and dynamic percussive support is seasoned mridangam artiste Thillaisthanam R. Suriyanarayanan. His subtle accompaniment technique enhances the melodic pacing of the vocalists while delivering crisp, nuanced rhythmic patterns during the tani avartanam section.

The Heritage of Naada Inbam & Ragasudha Hall

Naada Inbam, founded by the visionary late SVK (S. V. Krishnan), stands as one of Chennai’s most venerated cultural organizations dedicated strictly to uncompromised, acoustic classical music. Ragasudha Hall, situated right next to the peaceful greenery of Nageswara Rao Park, was built specifically to provide an intimate setting where classical acoustic sound flourishes without excessive artificial amplification.

Every year, Naada Inbam hosts memorial and birthday tribute concerts in honor of great patrons, scholars, and musicians. Hosting the Prof. Dilip Veeraraghavan Birthday Concert ensures that the legacy of passionate music patronage continues to inspire young talents performing a Carnatic Vocal Concert on this sacred stage.
