Dhurandhar (2025) – Netflix | Jan 30
Dhurandhar arrives as a gripping action-espionage drama that blends fictional storytelling with echoes of real historical events. Streaming on Netflix from 30 January 2026, the film dives deep into the shadowy world of intelligence operations, undercover identities, and dangerous cross-border missions.
A Mission That Begins on Death Row
At the center of the story is Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a man awaiting execution. However, his fate takes an unexpected turn when Indian intelligence offers him a deal that could change everything. Instead of facing the gallows, he is recruited for a covert operation that demands absolute risk and zero margin for error.
Consequently, Jaskirat assumes a new identity — Hamza Ali Mazari — and crosses into Karachi to infiltrate a powerful underworld network with links to the ISI. From that moment onward, survival depends not only on courage but also on deception and razor-sharp instincts.

Inside the Lyari Underworld
To complete his mission, Hamza must gain the trust of Rehman Dakait, a feared gang leader controlling the Lyari region. Therefore, he begins at the bottom, slowly working his way up the criminal hierarchy. Each step brings him closer to his objective, yet at the same time, it pulls him deeper into a world of violence, loyalty tests, and hidden agendas.
Moreover, the film reflects the tension of a period shaped by major real-life incidents such as the IC-814 hijacking, the Parliament attack, the Mumbai attacks, and other counter-terror operations. As a result, the narrative carries a sense of realism and urgency that heightens every moment.

Powerhouse Cast Driving the Drama
The film features a commanding ensemble cast that adds weight and intensity to the narrative:
- Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazari / Jaskirat Singh Rangi, the undercover operative caught between identities
- Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait, the influential underworld figure
- Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam
- R. Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal
- Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal
- Sara Arjun as Yalina Jamali
Because of this strong lineup, the film balances emotional conflict with intense action sequences.

The Vision Behind Dhurandhar
Directed and written by Aditya Dhar, the film carries his signature style of blending patriotism, tension, and human drama. In addition, producers Aditya Dhar, Lokesh Dhar, and Jyoti Deshpande ensure the film has a large-scale cinematic feel. Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, and featuring music by Shashwat Sachdev, the production promises both emotional depth and adrenaline-filled moments.

More Than Just an Action Film
While Dhurandhar delivers high-octane sequences and covert operations, it also explores themes of identity, sacrifice, and redemption. On one hand, it’s a thriller about national security. On the other, it’s a story about a man forced to question who he truly is while living a lie.
Therefore, viewers can expect not only edge-of-the-seat tension but also a layered narrative that stays with them long after the credits roll.
